The word Reiki is a Japanese word meaning “universal life energy”. Reiki is an energy healing therapy where the practitioner channels energy through the hands directly to the client’s chakras, which signals the client’s body to heal itself. Energy goes where it is needed most. Reiki energy can release blocked energy, cleanse the body of toxins, and balance the human energy system. During the Reiki session, the practitioner is heart-centered, focusing on the intention to heal based on the client’s request.

There are many variations in Reiki. Usui Reiki comes from Dr. Miao Usui, who was born in Japan in 1864. Dr. Usui discovered healing life force energy he called Reiki, while meditating on Mr. Kurama in 1922. He subsequently opened a Reiki clinic in Tokyo and began teaching Reiki and providing Reiki treatments.
